I think its hard to tell until you actually see a horse/pony in the flesh to determine exactly how much top weight they should carry comfortably, a large 17.2 hunter could have a weak back for example, confirmation, length of back, fitness, muscle, how well the rider rides, type of saddle and weight distribution etc all play a part but I'd agree if you were around 12 stone then a good example of a Connemara should not have any issues with that kind of weight. The horse looks lovely type from the picture though.

If its true to type connie then id say anything upto about 14stone is fine, 15stone at a push but not regularly.
