Need more details about what the pony would be expected to do.
They could carry more weight if they are expected to go for a walk and trot hack for one hour once a week, than if they are being jumped and schooled several times a week.

Ditto - I'm 5ft 8", anywhere between 9st 10lbs and 10st 6lbs depending on time of year, pony is a 14.2hh Welsh Cob and takes me on a full day's hunting.
The pony in my siggy is around 14.2 and she carries me fine and i'm about 5ft6/5ft7 and around 9st and she's pretty fine. I would say she could probably carry a little more bit wouldn't put much more on her. Ponies tend to be tough little things so as long as it's not a rediculous amout then i'm sure all will be fine.
OH has a medium heavy weight (if that makes sense) 14.2 cob. He carries me for miles without batting an eyelid, in fact I have to hold him back. I'm pushing 16 stone.
a friends lightweight 14.2hh happily carries 11 stone for all pony club/hunting/hacking etc but prob wouldn't take much more.
if its a med/ heavy weight then I agree with featherpower, up to 13 stone for all activities, possibly more!
Most L/W would take 11 and a half stone ish for all activities.
I know a couple of fit, H/W cobs with good conformation and 10 to 11 inches of bone that are 14.2hh and carry a balanced 15 stone rider for light to medium work.
Weight carrying ability depends on many factors and each horse or pony's weight carrying ability should be considered individually.
