Ok so in my previous post i got told my mare is most likely pregnant so now i'm curious what colour and height will the foal be the dad was a grey 12.2hh - 13hh section a and the mare is a 14.2hh - 15hh bay welsh d. Is it just me or will my foal turn out a bit weird?

to be honest i dont have a clue about the sire he just got into the field we rented for a while all i know is that he was grey and i think around 12.2hh-13hh but he could be smaller or bigger as the owners came and got him as soon as we found him in the feild :S i only recently thought my mare might be pregnant as the vet just mensioned when he came out :)

Well I came across a shetland the other day which I could have sworn was pregnant, except.............. it was male!!!!!!lol!!!! But with regards to what you'd get, I'd say something similar to a sec c type as said above??? I take it your mare was in season at the time of the escapee arrival????!!! sods law!!!

Has she been scanned and confirmed in foal?

To get a good idea of the likely foal you need to look at the last few generations (to at least grandparents and preferably further back) to get an idea of the dominant genes.

If both parents have good confirmation there is no reason to suspect you will have a 'weird' foal. Certainly won't be the first time one parent was grey and the other was bay with a height difference.
