Assuming soundness, good health, decent weather and decent ground of course :)

I was hoping to start at a nice unaff 70cm one but can’t find one until much later in the year, so I can see some 80cm arena Eventing/eventer challenges coming up so we can debut at an unaff 80 instead :) Maybe Calmsden or Swalcliffe at the beginning or end of April.....
 
My mare is in training but I would like to do the sponsored ride in April but need someone else to do it with, my nerves took a beating after breaking my upper arm and my shoulder. Would like to try for the Windsor sponsored drive this year as well now I have a new carriage, need to loose some weight though to help my pony get round, more of an incentive to diet :D
 
Weather permitting, elementary unaffiliated dressage with my Clydex at the end of January. We haven't competed for well over three years, and then it was an Intro. He's working medium at home, so I'm hopeful of a nice fun relaxed outing.
 
Hopefully another arena eventing in mid jan at 65-75cm. The next class up is 85-95, which feels like a bit of a jump, I’d like to try a 75-85cm
 
Going to start on my 2018 plans today. Have ordered the lovely Leroy and Bongo planner to write it all down too (really should have thought of that before Xmas as it is a perfect present idea, duh!). I'd like to get more comp experience and build up in jumping heights, as well as aim for an unaff champs event but not decided what to go for just yet.

Have my (hopefully) last Elementary with R pencilled in for the 13th of this month and then we’ll be taking a step back from competing to concentrate on training with a view to stepping up to medium. I should probably have a look at my tests before my lesson tomorrow.

I haven’t even thought about jumping aside from sending off the baby’s and newbie’s passports to get them registered. Need to get my act together and get the big lads out to something this month.
 
I will admit that I hibernate in winter. Ponies are kept ticking over and as much as I like to say I will get out to some winter dressage, the majority of winter comps are on in the evenings here and I just can't do it.

We will venture out in April at the start of the summer season.
 
Have just started taking M out to train away from home, so will continue with that a couple of times a month with a view to finally getting out in March once my new jacket arrives :D I've just managed to clear my inbox, so took a sneak peek at our local venue to discover they've got a nice UA dressage on my birthday so might bookmark that as our dressage debut.
 
I have never competed so much as this time of year as this year, I was out on Christmas Eve and my first dressage competition is this Saturday, having had my first training session yesterday! I have a plan and limited funds so its a case of get qualified then save for the Areas as my horse competed best at away shows (he likes parties!).
ETA - my horse is grey, which is totally unpractical !

We have our first Elementary on Sunday :D It wont set the world alight but I want to use it to test our training so we'll see what happens!

I'm hoping my first ACTUAL event will be Tweseldown (1) in March - There is a big X on my calendar for that weekend! Its my 'home' event and early season so will do whatever I can to get a run there.

I dont know if i'll ride her there or get someone else to as i seem to still be having a XC wobble :( but there is still 2 months to go to fix that so fingers crossed!
 
I'm doing dressage this Sunday as a warm up for winter regionals in february. Beyond that I haven't decided. I'd like to take the new boy to a nice unaffiliated event somewhere but I haven't spotted one yet. If anyone has any recommendations in the North West for a 60 to 70cm event please let me know :D
 
Event wise, I had a quick look at the calendar last night and I’d imagine the 100 at Mount Ballan mid-may will be about right. He will have done 9 months work by then.
If we have a particularly good spring weather & schooling wise then Ascott under Wychwood 100 mid April isn’t out of the question.

TBH I’d rather wait the extra and get some BSJA clears on his card first
 
Have a 'simulated XC' clinic booked in for 3rd Feb, so that will be our first outing of 2018. Hoping to get in an arena XC comp before the season starts. All going to plan, we'll be off to Munstead, ether the BE in March or UA in April - depending on how prep goes in the meanwhile!
 
Was meant to take both to addington on the 7th janjust realised it's newcomers + and entries closed yesterday so hoping to get a late entry for nc and 7 year olds Sunday and I hope I can borrow someone to drive lorry to take other horse for a bn at keysoe on the Saturday as his talents don't quite reach newcomers ha x

The only thing definitely booked into the calendar (assuming soundness) is the Iberian show in April. We're going because it's a nice, quiet show for me to get over my nerves about taking him out - no expectation of him winning anything because he's a part-bred who doesn't look remotely Iberian!

Other than that, I might pootle down the road for an unaff dressage test, if I can work up the courage.
