Trying to sort it out - been using hibiscrub and purple spray as advised by the farrier...
thinking of using some bleach and water which I wait for my cleanfax to come through the post....
any other tips would be great...I feel like a bad mum at the mo :0(

Surely bleach wouldn't be any good for it?

I was using hydrogen peroxide, hibiscrub (I think... I can't remember, something like that anyway) to wash it out with, and plugging the hole with cotton wool soaked in purple spray. It worked to a point, then got worse again. My vet then sent me some pevidine to replace the hibiscrub and it worked a treat. I have been able to cut back my foot cleaning routine to every 10 days or so instead of every other day, and in turn her feet have benefitted from being left alone for short periods. It's slowly growing out now!

Stick with what you have for a while

There seems to be a high rate of seedy toe at the moment.
I tried peroxide, purple spray etc and finally cleared it by standing her feet in a borax solution for ten minutes.

My horse has severe seedy toe which has caused Laminitis. We are on the right track at the mo and I have tried numerous things to clear it up. The best thing that works I have found is iodine. I got my vet to send me a big bottle of neat solution. I clean the hole out with water and a soft scrubbing brush everyday and then I use a toothbrush and scrub the iodine in. I do this once a day but this is due to the ground being hard - if it was getting mucky everyday I would do it twice. Fingers crossed at the mo things are looking good! Obviously the best thing for seedy toe is exposure to air so you need to make sure it is all cut away.
