What would/do you pay for full livery?

Ive been looking for a yard to run as a livery yard for a while now, today I went to see a place which seems ok, the only thing is there is no menage, there is good off road hacking, nice stables, good grazing, owner lives on site, everything seems great apart from the fact that there is no menage, I work at a yard about 1 mile away where there is a menage which is available for hire.

How much should I be charging for full livery, to include stable, turnout, bring in, ad alib hay, feed, one bale of shavings pw, daily groom, handling for vet/ farrier visits??

We're in the north west

Do you not include hard feed too?
Wha you describe is what I would call part livery.
I'm central/south and out yard has a 60x30 floodlit school
Charge is £90pw.

TBH you should do some very good local research to see if you could fill your boxes. In my experience people looking for full/part livery definitely want a menage on site and you will either find yourself with empty boxes or have to charge so little to fill them up you'll be working for peanuts

If you had a school around £90 per week, but without you would probably be looking at about £80per week. To include everything except working the horse, and any extra supplements (eg cortaflex).

Yes it would include feed (but supplements or balencers would be extra)

I am doing local research, I know there are allot of people in cheshire who come on here which is why I decided to post this. There is a high demand for full livery in this area, (I'm a freelance groom so get to meet allot of locals). I'm just not sure if the lack of menage will put people of and how to reflex this in my prices.. and therefore wether it will be worth my while taking on

I think not having a school is a major minus, but if you have good hacking, maybe around 50-60 max? What do the other places nearby charge?

i can't see it working tbh- 99% of people looking for full livery will want a school.

i would only pay £50/week for what you are describing and i am also in the West Midlands.

I used to pay between £80 to £120 per week for part livery which included everything you described. I bought any additional supplements I wanted my horses to have. Full livery was from £120 - £140 per week at the same yards but included tack cleaning and exercising 5 days per week.

I also agree that the lack of a school could be a problem. I personally would not go to a yard with no school although in the past I would have done.

I have few liveries that I call full, but others will call part, they inc everything except for grooming, excercise & supplements, I muck out, turn out, bring in, change rugs & supply all basic feed, hay/haylege & bedding (which is now straw but was shavings till it went up to £8 a bale

) I'm here to hold for the farrier & vet in fact I look after these horses 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year (which is another moan!) for £75.00 a week which is a bloody hard job in this weather

I am not sure it is worth it and I am thinking of packing it all in - I'm knackered

Sorry to moan but it has been a long winter

Suppose it depends where abouts in NW you are and what other yards in area are offering. I do like a school although I appreciate you can't have everything. The yard where I am doesn't have good hacking. I would try to find something to make you different from competition. I currently pay £85.00 pw for full livery. The standard is superb and I know my girl is in safe hands
