Some of u may remember i posted a while back asking how much my pony would sell for. he is 13hh, chestnut gelding rising 5, sired by ardenhall missoni. i backed him last summer and he is hacking nicely. i haven't done any schooling as we dont have one! i have been lunging him and he has just started jumping tyres on the lunge. i was thinking of selling him in april time for around £1500. however ive just been offered a 14.3hh liver chestnut arab gelding, rising 5 for £1500 and he sounds a sweetie. thing is i can't afford both so do i sell pony now and get less for him as he hasn't done much or do i wait until april and see what else is about?
sorry its so long, it's hard to sum it up in a few sentences!!

As an arab fanatic i would be very tepmted by the arab!!

Is your pony really going to be worth that much more in April than now? I know the market is better then but he won't have done that much more surely!

If the arab is right for you then go for it, horse buying/selling is always a risk.
However the fact you are asking the question suggests to me that you are not sure.

Agree with pedilia

If you were thinking of selling your pony anyway and one has come along that would suit you better I'd go for it.

I'd be tempted to advertise him now and still ask the £1500. I recently advertised my mare on a website - www.thehorseexchange.com - which is free to advertise, and she has sold much quicker than I had anticipated.

Whenever you are selling a horse it is always difficult, and I think it is more a case of just finding the right person at the right time. If you are lucky enough to find the right person for your pony then they will be happy to pay the asking price.
