ok having a row/discussion with my mum tonite have arranged to go for a long hack tomoz about 1.5-2hrs long around a nice counrty park on sand tracks we normally have a nice long gallop there.....prob is i have 2 very big shows comin up in the next month its cost me alot of time and money to get where i am and i have put so much schooling into my horse. i think he desereves to go for a nice long hack, (its not often i get to hack out as i have a young child but i have a babysitter all day tomorrow) mum thinks i shouldnt risk his legs as i would be gutted if he went lame.....now i feel she has jinxed me!!!
what would u do, would u go for a big hack so close to big shows coming up?????

Maybe go for the hack, but take it easy on the galloping? You could stick to gentle canters maybe, it would still be nice and relaxing.

I'd go and take it steady, it sounds like both you and the horse deserve a nice hack. If you've got the opportunity with having a babysitter etc then I'd go.

I would go for the hack,
sounds as though he deserves it, especially if you've put in all the long schooling hours, and if it's sand tracks then it should be fine - the liklihood or something happening is quite small,
just check the ground that isnt sand, i would

Go for it. Accidents can happen anywhere - not just on long hacks with lots of galloping. You could not go tomorrow, and then find your horse in the field the day after with an unexpected injury. You can't live life on "what ifs" - but maybe that's just me!
