Just started back riding (couple of months ago) after 8-9 years off, and am now looking for a share horse. But I'm not sure how I would describe my level of riding etc.

Before giving up, in my crazy teenage years, I used to do xc and sj up to about 3'6", never been that good at dressage etc, my riding was never refined enough. Since getting back into it, I've had about 10 lessons and a couple of hacks. Can do the obvious walk trot canter, have jumped upto 2'6", have good control and transitions etc but not sure what 'level' I would call myself. I'm not nervous in the saddle and will have a go at most things.

Please help, I would like to be completely honest with prospective horse owners (if I'm lucky enough to find a share), I don't want to out horse myself.

I dont think you need to sum it up into one word tbh, as the definition can vary from person to person.

I would just describe what you have said......

if it was me, i would look for something suitable for a novice you can always progress to something a little more advanced once you have re-estableshed your riding skills. its always easier to progress than go backwards, good luck
