What would you do in this situation?

How annoying!!! I would perhaps go and take some rugs off her horse and see how she likes it!!

Out of order, he sounds very well looked after, perhaps send her a text, suggesting that although she ment well, please avoid interfering with my horses welfare, prob not to rude as u still have to see her each day, i presume.

Wait til about half eleven tonight, phone her up, and tell her you hope she doesn't mind, but you thought her horse was too hot so you took all his rugs off.
Or, take your rug off your horse and 'hide' it in her belongings, only to dramatically accuse her in the morning.
Declare that your horse has suddenly become headshy...and accuse her of hitting him around the head.
Declare undying lust for her (no matter if you're straight or not) and say it's the little things she does that make you love her more (this one would be my favourite for humour value).
So much fun you can have with numpties.

I would be furious and not very polite, especially as it probably made your horse far too warm. G's stable rug got soaked on the stable door in the rain today and I don't have a spare (oops, shopping tomorrow) so had to put him in a cooler fleece/net with a MT universal sheet on top - YO has just texted to say he is fine.

My first reaction was "I'd totally flip out" and I'm glad to see, reading through the replies, I'm not the only one! I would be SO furious, especially as it was MY horse and I, NOT they, am paying for assisted livery. Yes the YM is entitled to make decisions for the welfare of the horse but a livery? I would probably make myself very unpopular and be rather rude

I really hate interfering busibodies at the best of times, but when the stupid person has already talked to you about adding another rug and you'd said no??! I'm fuming on your behalf!!

Well im a quite laid back sort of person, yes i would be cross but wouldnt get hung up over it, life is to short! surely its better to try and keep the peace?

i'm torn on that one, agree with keeping the peace, but if you don't make a fuss just a little bit this time, what are they going to do next???????? people like this get outta control if you don't nip it in the bud..
you may turn up to find your horse has been clipped because he looked hot, being exercised or turned out because he looked bored, fed coz he looked thin.... well, you get the gist

I think I would speak to the person who advised the putting on of the extra rug to find out if they were responsible. If they were I would advise them that they mentioned it to you & you decided not to. I would then ask what right they think they have to over ride decisions made by you as to what your horse will or will not wear. I would emphasise that it is nothing to do with them & you would be obliged if they would stay out of things that are not their concern.

I think I may mention what had happened to the YO as well, just so they are aware of the siruation.

Lilpinkso just noticed you are a Equine Behaviourist & Reiki Practitioner

wondered how you would deal with this problem-http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/2476668/an/0/page/0#2476668 - not the original post my problem of my horse not tying up on occasion?

Just curious

I would speak to the YO not the other livery.
If it's the YO I would suggest to her she asks you in future before adding anymore rugs.
If it's the other livery I would ask the YO to speak to her, she really has no business at all adding an extra rug to your horse, who sounds to be slightly over rugged already for one without a clip!
Point out to the twit that horse's coats need to be able to fluff out to trap the warm air between the hairs, and three rugs will totally prevent this happening by their sheer weight.
Sometimes I can't believe the cheek of some of the people on here, I would be livid if I were you...

I would be furious, especially if I'd discussed it beforehand and said he didn't need a rug. I expect to make my own decisions about my own horses. Only exception is my YO who is exceeding knowledgable. If she said to me that she did such and such because... I'd trust her.

I would be absolutely furious - an unclipped horse in a stable with three rugs on! - For goodness sake this person obviously is completely clueless - I think you need to give her some stable management lessons! - Ask her if she was every a member of pony club and if not perhaps she ought to join and learn something!!

I'd be very annoyed. My unclipped little ponio is in at night with no rugs yet!! She has a MW on in the day but it is only the wind that is cold, she's super hairy and too small to even get a draft from the stable window! She won't have any kind of stable rug on until probably well into december!

That would totally pee me off - just the fact that they'd decided to even go near my horse without my permission would annoy me! Definately would be reporting it to the YM and would also ask the girl about it as surely she's the most likely culprit...? Just ask her casually if she knows who did it - if anything she'll hopefully be so embarassed she wont do it again.
