If your YO added something to your bill which you have already paid for in a previous month? Initially I though she has just forgotten that it was on last month's bill but she is saying that we had them (2 bales of hay) twice.

If she is clearly saying you had the bales [even if you didnt] I would probably cough up, as it is only £8.50 which in the scheme of things buys a quieter life and avoids confrontation. However I would be keeping a dairy of what I had when just incase she did the same thing again [unless you already do ... aannndd that statement is useless sorry].

I had this exact problem last month. I love my YO and just emailed her saying that I thought I had already paid this last month and could she have a check please. She did and emailed me back apologising profusly for the mistake to which I replied that it's no problem, we're only human after all!

I'm sure she didn't do it on purpose!

I mentioned it last night expecting that she would say oh yes I forgot but she said that we did have 2 bales at the end of Dec for hubby's new horse which were put on his 1st bill on the 1st Jan but she has written down in her diary that he had another 2 bales on the 5th Jan. We very rarely get hay from her as I have a weekly delivery from elsewhere and the 2 bales we did have was just to keep the horse going from the 1st until my hay was delivered on the 4th. She has said oh well then let's leave it but clearly thinks I have had hay and don't want to pay for it and I don't really want to leave it like that as I will not feel happy buying hay from her again. She is going to look for last year's book to see if she wrote down the bales that we did have at the end of Dec but I guess if she mentions it again I will pay for them as it is not worth the hassle over a few quid.
