At present I have a registered farrier that shoes my horse and trims my ponies he is good but hardly ever turns up when he is supposed to and you then have to wait another week or 2 to finally get him to come (my TB has had to go through 7 weeks x 2 so far this year without shoes cause farrier has cancelled numerous times). The good thing about him is that he is around most weeks so if you have an emergency he will be there. but i dont think it is good enough so.
I have been thinking of getting another farrier but am limited to choice, 1 that lives locally done a 3 month course in usa and is not registered , another is registered but only comes over evey 6 weeks so if anything goes wrong in between you cant get hold of him.
So what I am asking is should I stick to current farrier and put up with him cancelling on me or should i try another. What would you do?
