I have got myself in a bad situation where I am abroad working and my 2 horses are on full livery in the UK. I need to sell one of them, and person having them on livery was suppose to sell her for me.

I have realised that people calling up to try to view are not able to get hold of the person to arrange a viewing, and also am unable to get through myself. (not for lack of trying :-(

Although I find this highly disconcerting, and I feel really stupid, I am pretty sure that the horses are both looked after well. At my last visit 2 months ago both were fine, fit and happy. So I am very grateful after all that it is just a financial problem and not a welfare problem.

After months of bills, I cannot afford going on like this and I am now considering finding a dealer or other possibility for a quick sale. I have never used a dealer or auction before and it worries me, but I need to resolve this.

Does anyone know a dealer who would come out look at her for an immediate decision, or a sale I could take her to? She is in Oxon.

Immybrook, I have PM'ed you.

filly190 - thanks! I guess this might work if I said something like get a cut but ONLY if the horse is sold within a certain date... will think about that.

I would offer the person a commission for selling your horse otherwise she has no incentive in fact she is better off not selling your horse as then she will get the livery money!

We once agreed to take a horse from someone desperate to sell, play with it and get it going................ and we bought her!
