I would have a word with her.
Making a child cry is not on at something like pc camp. Its going to make her never want to go again!!!!!! At 12 she will be conscious of her peer group so, OTT I know but it could have a negative effect on her.
Could you talk to the girl? Maybe be a big sister type to her?

Is she the type of child who cries easily? Or cries when things aren't going her way?

That's what I was thinking - I helped out at some fun days at my local RS and if the kids didn't get the pony the wanted they would be in hysterics.

no not really it was to do with the star chart silly huh but this is not the first time they have done it and it feels to me like a power trip. still not impressed. what do you think of the money thing thou?

Please talk to the girl, let her see she has a friend. My daughter went to camp last year and wont go this year cause the teacher shouted at her and took her a long way out of her comfort zone. I am all for a little pushing but is was way to much.

She was 11 last year and very worried about what other people thought of her etc just starting secondary school its a "nasty" age for kids - girls even more so!!

Maybe when she is tack cleaning or on in a quite moment just give her a sisterly hug it goes a hell of a long way, and may just change that girls future

Sorry to "rant" but hate bullies, and riding is meant to be fun!

I'm afraid that I've met very few people who are both horsey and who know how to treat children, I would mention it to the insructor, tell her that you think her behaviour was unfair and give her the chance to change how she is. she may feel that she is doing the right thing, some people seem to think that shouting at children and ridiculing them is the only way to get throught o them!!
