What would you do?

Merlin will be 3yo in May. He is a Welsh D just in case anyone has forgotten!

I am debating whether to back him next September/October and turn him away for Winter?

Or whether to leave him until May the year after (so he will be 4yo) and back him then, and not turn him away as it will be coming into the summer then?

What do you think?

Back him in the Autumn of his third year and turn away until Spring 2011. (In otherwords, same as Jemima and Elmo said).

What is the benefit of turning away ?

Other than i always seem to have less time to do everything in the winter?
