Do you think it is fair turn my horse away as i am injured? I dont know how long it is going to take for me to be fit enough to ride again. My horse has now been turned away since the begining of the summer and i feel that she is bored now but im not sure what to do with her. If it were you would you concider loan? or get someone to ride the horse? Any other possibilities?

Thanks in advance

Do you have instructor she might be able to match you up with someone who has injured horse so you can help each other.

I put mine on working livery, local place, very responsible riding school owner. Hasn't done her any harm and she came back fitter, more confident and better mannered with strangers. Was very nervous about it at first but worked out really well. It was good to go and watch her too, beat sitting at home and worrying about her getting fat and running wild in the field.

When I was pregnant I had the same problem of a bored active horse needing some fun so I asked my instructor and she knew of a girl who's horse had just been injured and was working at the same level my chap was. It worked really well and she had lessons with my instructor to get to know him and when we were all satisfied they were a good match she took him out for hacks on her own but also continued to have lessons.

Thanks everyone, i think im going to contact my instructor and see if she knows anyone who would ride my mare. Not happy about not being able to ride and its making it worse seeing my horse in the field everyday looking bored and wanting to do something =[ atleast she will be happy doing some work then =]
