What would you do??

Hi everyone, I feel as though I'm at my wits end so to speak! As many of you know I have been troubled with illness this year and it looks like for the forseeable future! My girls mean the world to me but having real trouble as my OH is very much a beginner and not really able to ride either and considering my baby needs company to help teach her to hack out alone, I'm stuck (not on a yard) and my big girl hacks out brilliantly with others but not on her own, hence my problem. It would be ideal if hubby had a bombproof horse to hack out with me that wouldn't be phased with young girl threw a tantrum! I have thought about this for months, my heart says, don't change anything but my head says I can't carry on like this!
Head is telling me to sort this but it would mean parting with one and getting something suitable for my hubby and me to hack out in "safety".
I am so upset and confused.
Any suggestions? do I carry on not doing much with either or part with one, getting a quiet sort and having more fun hacking out so good for other one??

huge hugs! It is so hard when things don't work out BUT horses should be enjoyed and when you are no longer enjoying them it is time to change something.

I know I had to do this and boy was it hard. HOWEVER I only had my new lad a couple of weeks and I was certain I had made the right choice, no matter how hard it had been at the time it was worth it in the end

Chances are horse(s) would be happier in homes where they would be more suitable for the new person too
 
could you loan or even part ex the older girl to allow you to get a safe hack? Then you won't have to permenantly part with your much loved mare - just find her a really nice home where you can keep tabs on her and be happy knowing she's busy with plenty of work? Just and idea.
 
can you not just turn them away for forseeable future - ok one is young i understand that but some time off wont hurt - groundwork with youngster maybe if you can. I rarely ride my two since doing back in and how i see it mmmm give them choice be ridden or out in field being horses - what would they choose? prob not a lot of help but i have stopped beating myself up over not riding - they are happy loved and cared for so yay xxxx
