Pony went lame yesterday after speeding off on canter track, she fell slightly in her backend but carried on til the end. took her in outdoor and went to trot, she was dragging her back leg slower than the other ones. Took her in, made sure she wasnt tying up. She just went in and ate.
Today, she was very slow on back legs walking out barn but didn't look in any discomfort in her face. She rests the leg occasionally but Will put weight on it and let me pick it out and check for heat/swelling etc.
She's absolutely fine in herself, very perky and eating happily.
Took her for a walk up barn later and she did seem more happy with moving her back legs freely. She just looks really really stiff.
Howevr they have been stuck in all week with no turnout since fields are flooded. She's ridden 6 times a week quite hard for her age, but she hasnt had such a quick canter like That in ages.
No swelling or heat in any of the legs. Rung vet today and he just said as long as she looks comfy in herself then don't bother with any bute. She is 22 so we think shes just pulled a muscle and is now a bit stiff.
What is everyone else's opinion on a situation like this? I'm obviously still really worried incase I've hurt her,
