Thursday last week I turned up at work and there was a note for me to exercise one of he ridng school ponies.
The pony im talking about is a 11hh heinz 57 type mare that has just got over a nasty virus, I told the other member of staff that I was'nt happy as I think I am too heavy for her at the moto which she said she will be fine. So got on had a little walk asked for trot and she really struggled so jumped off and lunged her instead. I phoned my boss up and told her that she really struggled carrying me to which she did'nt really reply.
So on Friday get to the yard and theres another note asking me to do the same thing, bosses husband was down so I told him that I was'nt riding her as I did'nt feel comfortable to do so, he just turned round and said to me that she needs riding they cant just put a kid on her back without her being ridden by someone else, I agreed and said that, that is one of the down sides on owning small ponies and that I would lunge her but not ride her he just mumbled something and walked off.
Anyway go in to work today bosses OH asks can he have a word in the office so off I go, I sit down and he starts shouting at me saying that he hears I havent been riding the pony to which I agree and tell him that he knew as I told him I wont ride her under any cicumstances, then he starts saying how his wife is fuming at me for not doing my job properly and that when I rode her on Thursday I was'nt wearing a hat.
I admit I was'nt wearing a hat and that it was wrong of me not to do so, I then ask him to stop shouting at me as I am far from being a child and I was'nt shouting at him and that if his wife had a problem with me not wanting to ride a weak, unfit and very underweight pony that I am far to heavy for (I weigh 9 1/2st) then she should speak to me herself.
Anyway after that I get ignored all day and get told that I am no longer allowed to bring my horse to the yard on livery until I sort out my problem with authority(sp).
Was I right in expressing my views??? The pony has had 6 weeks off and has lost a lot of weight, you can see all her ribs and her spine is really sticking out. But apparently its just lack of muscle!!!!!
I really am a bit p****d off the pony cant be used off the lead rein anyway as she gallops off with the kids I really cant see what there problem is...
