just out of interest to see how much peoples feeding varies
horse one-
17 years old
15.2hh ish, shp type.
had laminitis mildly at start of this year for first time and not had it since(grass restricted with muzzle).
lost alot of weight which shes struggling to put back on-at the moment shes slightly underweight and you can see all her ribs under her thick coat.(she is now 410kg-she was 360ish 4 months ago-previously a good doer and struggled to keep her at the 500 mark)
shes had her teeth done 3 weeks ago(6months after last time) and wormed with equest duo(and done regularly before that) and is well rugged up.
shes ridden very lightly in walk for 20mins 4 times a week, although i will probably stop riding her over the winter.
at the moment shes fed on good hay adlib
out for 8hours each day but the grass isnt very plentiful so she has hay in the field too.
bucket feed (twice a day)
speedie beet- two medium scoops(soaked)
fibre-p or hifi -two big handfuls.
half a cup of oil.
topspec antilam.
shes really bright in herself now and got a good coat.
horse two-
yearling filly WB 19months old.(currently 15.2hh)
in good condition- can just see some of her ribs but shes rounded and looks healthy)
adlib hay in stable and field (out 8hours)
BUCKET FEED -twice a day
one scoop of sugar beet (soaked)
apple chaff/molichop-one handful
a scoop of stud cubes
the rest of the minerals and vits is made up of baileys stud balancer(although i do have to swap onto topsepc youngstock sometimes as the baileys isnt always in)
shes also well wormed and rugged.
