What would you include as part of a vetting?

Another post got me thinking. My boy has got to be the dirtiest horse on the planet! :(

He costs me a lot of time, sifting through his bed every day and I can spend up to about £120 per month on bedding (I was using 4- 5 bales a week!)

If I ever buy another horse, I would arrange a trial muck out :D before I purchased as part of my own vetting :D and if it failed -----See Ya! :D Bear in mind I ahve had 2 and a half years of daily vileness! :D I am a desperate and dissillusioned woman :D (Tongue is firmly in cheek :D )

What quirky things would you like to see included in the vetting process?

Ooooh I have one of those. Even on a half bed with rubber matting he costs a fortune. Never again. Also, I never want to have to clean up another horse who uses his droppings as a pillow every night!

Yours disillusion-edly,

S

A cooling off period. I should have walked away after the vetting and thought about what the vet said. If I had listened to his comments about temperament I might have saved myself a lot of heartache.

If I could go back - I would like the chance to turn up up un-announced and travel the horse somewhere - even down the road and back. One of mine has only ever travelled well once - the day we got her!! And in hindsight she did seem very subdued that day but not really knowing her personality that well assumed it was just her. We now have to drug her every time we move property and cannot take her anywhere.

Lol i had one of those smelly beasts that cost a fortune to bed :p He just peed everywere and pooped everywere to!! Took me 40mins to muck out everyday
