If you could stipulate how much you paid for the following services what would it be?

Full livery
One acre set per each horse,
Outdoor rubber/sand arena
Wash area,
Alarmed and CCTV on yard which goes through to owners house
Owner lives on site
Lorry parking if required,
Lots and lots of hacking (including 20+ miles around a lake)
24/7 supervision
Cambridgeshire area
Picturesque yard/stables
Secure place to keep tack

Turn out/bring in
Mucking out/skipping out
Feed
Hay or other on supply
Everything included in the service apart from riding

Let me know your thoughts.

Im in Warwickshire and that type of service on a yard near to my diy one is around £120/130 a week. I would of maybe thought a bit more furthur down south?

SS x

I pay £79 per week for that with a horse walker in addition to the list you've given and hot water wash, solarium.

It varies from area to area. I would get an idea of what other livery yards in your area charge and price accordingly.

Yes does exist, we have it at our home to be, but looking to let 2 stables out of my 3.. Clearly need to keep one for mine..

Would £150 be fair?

Adios

If the right owner came along it would. Someone able/willing to pay for that level of care is probably going to own a decent horse that is competing at a reasonable level. Possibly the best sort of livery to have. Alternatively you may attract a wealthy all the gear and no idea owner who could prove to be more trouble than the £150 is actually worth.

Good luck, livery clients can be tricky.

Or it could be just a normal person who's job and family means they need full livery. They may also have the cash to buy the gear they want too but be a perfectly pleasant horse person

Around here Part livery (which is what you described ) is £95-£110 a week. Full livery includes grooming, tack cleaning and exercise is about £160.

Unfortunately horses don't know how much a stable or fence costs and despite having the nicest owners can trash facilities and equipment by beeing bolshy, wood chewing etc. I misread and thought it included all except riding, I would place 150 to include tack cleaning, grooming etc.

Oh yes I understand that but I am currently on a DIY yard and it's not the horses I'm worried about it's lazy owners.

I would do all but ride other peoples horses (any riding, lunging etc would have to be extra)

Would depend on how good the school is and what smaller facilities you have (jumps, hacking etc) to how much people are willing to pay. A basic but good yard charges around £70-95 pw and the best competition yards charge around £150-175 pw for part livery around our area. Depends on your competition.

Also some people may be weary about joining a very small yard like yours as they like the social side of a larger yard. (in my opinion)

But best of luck :D

There is a yard on my way to work between worcester city and hereford that is pretty much as you describe, but on a larger scale (15 box yard) which charges 115 per week.

The school has been put in recently, no expense spared.. Fully drains, post and rail all the way round, regularly looked after.

We have a full set of show jumps for use, hacking is amazing miles and miles with a lake up the road which takes about 3-5 hours to get round depending on routes taken.

Stables are two big paces from arena, with 3 stables and roof out over the concrete in front, field entrance is round the back of the stables and I have one down by the house.

When we move in I'll post some piccies

Thanks for your advice guys..

Let me know your thoughts.

I am in Cambs and my local yard charges £65 per week minus cctv and alarm, wash area, and they have shared turnout. Therrefore, i would say £70-75.

However, saying that i know of a yard approx 4 miles from me offering the same services as my local yard and they charge £110 per week!

Are you in p'boro by any chance?

Any floodlights in the school?

I think £150 a week is much too much if not including riding.

I'd say around £80-100 a week for what you've said - basically part livery if not including riding.
