Not completely dead to the leg, but needs kicking on etc to perform..

Or

A horse that is very sensisitive to any leg aids, even the tiniest bit.

And why?
:D

Personally I prefer the latter, as that's how my boy is, but sometimes on lazy Sunday afternoons I do dream of plodding around on a dobbin, where if I was to move my leg I wouldnt go into trot:D

I like them to be psychic. The sort who can tell the difference between a leg movement and an aid :D I hack too much / play horseball so the second is way out. The former is just knackering if you have to pony club kick all the time, though Fergs is closer to that than the latter - J, on the other is psychic and needs no leg when the time is right for a blast, but is chilled out if you want to wave your legs around when you're plodding around :D

Oh okay I suppose the first one, the second one would be a bit of a nightmare in my mind, too sharp to the leg means you can never relax, and it's meant to be fun isn't it?

Psychic .!man, I need to start training my ned!!!? He's lacking,:D

Well he's pretty sharp to the leg my neddy, but then I think I got fat feet n I wear fat muck boot co boots so I don't know where my leg or foot is touching half the time....maybe I need to go BAREFOOT.?:D:D:D

The first... But I've got one that's in the 2nd group... Currently totally unsuitable for an "oldie lacking in confidence and just wanting to pootle about the countryside on relaxing hacks"... :D

He is (with a confident rider) starting to relax out hacking and not coil himself like a spring waiting for instruction just because the legs relaxed and then made contact again... If he doesn't outgrow him though, my son is hoping to dabble with dressage as they both improve and gain some experience - hopefully the fact he is so responsive will be a good thing then... :)

I have both i can use leg on cob slighty less on WB then i forget myself ride my TB like my WB and nearly send him in to orbit and he has softer mouth than the rest as well. I prefer horses i can use a bit of leg and get hold of.

Somewhere between the two, the second type of horse that is so sensitive to the leg is never going to be a truly relaxed, responsive ride, the horse should accept your leg, be able to yield to pressure from it and understand that leg on does not mean rush off.
Correct schooling should be able to make a horse less reactive and yet still remain responsive, as poster thebaymonkey has done, I am sure you have an easier time now.

Prefer mine to be quick off the leg and sensitive enough that I dont have to work very hard! Mine is exactly like this, in fact he's SO good at the tiniest movements that I swear he reads my mind and will turn in a jump off for example before I think I'd even thought about it! Hate ploddy, kick-along jobs - just makes life so difficult.
