It's the old fashioned term for a greasy lump of dirt stuck to your saddle...and if you're 103years old, like me, you'd know that you're supposed to make a little pad of horse hair to scrub it off without damaging the leather.

at 103 yrs old, fair enough, but how can they have expected a 10 yr old to know?!?!? I looked a right twit! It still grieves me now (hence the post - was just having a giggle about it with a friend - though I can say I have never slipped up on that one since!

haha I remember getting that as quiz question too! (I was on the Oakley West quiz team). The only question I remember getting badly wrong was a decider at the Area Finals when I was asked to spell veterinary. I spelt it "vetinary" and was so c*ck sure, I'm still embarrassed to this day as I think I argued with them about it. So shameful!
