If the person caring for your dogs rang to say they couldn't find the old arthritic one, they had been there an hour (including walking the dogs I think) and just sounded as though they hoped you would say just leave her out...?She had her earlier and she slipped off at some point which is fair enough as the dog does go for a wander and there are 4 dogs so could easily lose one but would you be a bit put out?

A BIT put out! I'd be bloody furious! If someone was walking my 4 dogs for me I'd expect them to look after them properly and if one wandered off I'd expect them to keep looking until they found it.

I was a bit put out indeed! As she hung up(I had told her to ring me again if after a reasonable time she couldn't find her) she spotted her. Now this dog can take 10-15mins to come as she is slightly selectively/deaf which suggests to me she wasn't calling long....
was very peeved! Not even an apology!

Incidents do happen....but HELL...I would be livid and probably a bit irrate and panicking at the thought of my dog being lost

I look after people dogs and I would be mortified myself if I happened to loose someones dog

I don't let peopled dogs off the lead either...unless it was previously my rescue and I knew it would come back.
I tend to let them have free run off my horses field cos it all fenced in and there is no way to get out....but I don't think I would take the risk of letting them off otherwise.
