Also in CR but not getting many veiws so :o
Just out of interest really, took him on a few months ago and did a bit with him so just wanted to see what all you knowledgable people thought. THIS IS NOT AN ADVERT AND I AM NOT CONSIDERING A SALE.

Ed is a bay NF 14.2, 9 yr old pony with three even white socks a a perfectly symmetrical blaze. Perfect conformation and a real eye catcher. He is by Bakeburn Jethro and Howen Gold so exceptionally bred. Lovely, friendly peoples pony who is a joy to have and loves being ridden but doesn't go hot when out of work. He is good to shoe, catch, wash etc. Needs a competent, good teenage rider or small adult.

He has previously done a lot of showing, going to the NF Breed Show in 2010 doing a Working Hunter class and coming 3rd. He has also done a lot of county showing, always in the top 5. He always has at least 60% in his Dressage and gets 8s for his paces, on the bit in all three. Working Prelim/Novice at shows. He also does shoulder ins and leg yields at home.
I have taken him SJ recently which he hasn't done a lot of and he came 2nd in his first class to qualify for CTR Champs, he is now doing 2ft9/3ft classes but could easily affiliate and get round 1.05 etc... He is always placed no matter what and a rosette is never lost with him.

He does have slight confidence issues with XC but he is a very quick learner and this weekend we have our first ODE He also has very, very minor Windgalls and Capped Hocks but these do not effect him and need no treatment, just a deep bed when in a stable. A perfect pony really and always talked about at shows.

Oh dear Its a bit long so cookies if you get this far.

Nope :D I would happily part with £1000 in this current Market :) xxx

Probably still under valued , but it is a buyers market :(

I was hoping a little more, its a shame that such good PC and RC ponies that have done all the teams are being sold for so little but there you go :(

i presume his capped hocks and windgalls prevent him from passing a 5 stage vetting and this will have an impact on his price I am afraid.

Im with nikicb, at least £2500 to £3500, a good allround pony will usually sell for decent money. The capped hocks and windgalls are cosmetic only and apart from preventing a showing career will make no difference to performance and he should pass a vet.

I think I know this pony from his previous owners. I don't know how much they paid for him though.

It is really hard to put a price on him. I have a new forest myself and paid £3,000 for him when he was 5 nearly 5 years ago when he had done very little (very well bred pony and well placed at breed show with a family history of jumping - half sister is now eventing at BE100 with points).

I think with the changes to the HOYS rules so that there are 8 stand alone qualifiers for new forests in 2013 the price of show quality foresters will go up.

I think the windgalls and capped hocks would put some people off but for insurance purposes I would insure him at about 2.5k.
