what year did Cavalier Royale die?

Just googled him and it says on sport horse data that he died after breaking a leg fighting with another stallion. Apparently he was 17 when he died and was born in 1978 so that would mean he died in 1995 I think.
 
I think there was still limited frozen semen available in 2011 not sure if there was any last year. (If you were wondering about the age of his youngest progeny of course, if not ignore this.:o)
