Fairly new to showing, have been doing mainly Ridden Hunter and Show horse classes, but a lot of the upcoming local shows have "Riding Horse" or Riding Club horse" classes, what are they??
Nana Pat's homemade crispies to everyone who helps.

Riding Horse is a showing class, similar to hack classes, but the horses tend to be finer.

Riding Club horse normally involves a jump or two, and is looking for a genuine all-rounder horse, which is capable of riding club activities, rather than a specific type or breed.

Ta for the crisps

Thanks, I have a lovely ID mare, who unfortunatley I had to hog after her MT neck cover thinned out a massive patch of mane, so that usually goes against her in Hunters, and theres only one Maxi cob class in the whole of Dumfries and Galloway so far this year, so we will give the Riding club class a bash, i think? Riding Club Horse wil be all types and weights, but looking for a good allrounder.
SO a walk trot and canter go round, and a jump or two in the individual show. and a gallop
Judge will probably not ride.
Manners, performance, conformation for type.

Seom specify a snaffle bridle, other maybe any brideland people will use thier normal show double.

As others have said, class for a horse that is an all rounder suitable for RC activities, ie can move nicely with good manners and jump.

Can be shown in double or snaffle - some classes do ask for snaffle. Most types of horses can do well, TBs, WBs, large cobs - I did very well with my TBs in this class in the past and ok with Jemima my gypsy cob.

Riding horse is normally a little more specialised - normally you don't jump and you are best off on a nice TB or WB type Riding horse classes are sometimes split into large and small, and is for a horse that is too big to be a hack and too fine to be a hunter. My Hann x TB mare did very well in large riding horse classes - she was 16.3.
