As title really - And has anyone used Platts shavings? Might be buying from them in bulk this year.
Whats best big flake or small flake shavings??

Not used platts.
I like big flakes as they seem to go further when you put a new bale out, but like small flakes as they soak up better. Now I just go with the cheapest - hard times, but amazingly they are small flakes and soak up really well.

Never heard of Platts but i use small flake when i can't get styraw. I hate shavings but i find small ones more economical.

I have a horrendous box walker who trashes her stable every night and changed earlier this year to big flake shavings fromthe smaller ones. It is a lot easier and less wasteful to muck her out now, and every so often I throw in a bale of small flake to help with soaking up.
