I have a cob an a shire x we have them at a small yard, they have been on a single strip of grass with 4 other horses since they ruined the fields in winter, so now with some grass another field has become available, but with most if the other horses over weight and my cob a good doer yet have stayed on the bare field and my shire x an 2 others have moved to the new field. The cob has become upset that his friend has gone and stands watching him all day. The shire x has begun wasting his hay in the stable at night, and the yard owner says the shire x needs the grass to fill out but he is at a perfect weight atm so would rather he stay with the cob, so he doesn't make himself ill.
Do you think I am doing the right thing? They will all go on grass later on and he has hay at night, on the field, and 2 feeds and is on light work. So I feel he is over fed already. Am I right? Does grass make that much difference?
Any advice
