Whats everyone betting on this afternoon?

This is my once a year gambling experience!
I was considering Clan Royal and Simon maybe.
What does everyone else fancy?

Well I've got Philson Run and Point Barrow in the office sweepstakes. I've still not decided what my proper bet will be though. Joes Edge is the obvious I suppose, but I don't always like going for the obvious!

i've put each way bets on l'ami and mckelvey! Got a riding lesson when the race is on though so going to miss it unfortunately.

L'Ami, Point Barrow and Joes Edge for me - I changed from Simon to Joes Edge last minute.

Think we're going to put a couple of quid each way on Hedgehunter, Clan Royal and Royal Auclair. Dithering between Point Barrow and Eurotrek though - what do you think?

Ballycassidy, I asked what price when I placed the bet becuase I knew he was a good price - 50-1, but through lack of betting experience I didn't specify that I wanted that price, I just assumed I got it at that

Of course that isn't the case and he's now 40-1 (kicks self). I also fancy Liberthine, the only mare in the race. She hasn't been staying very well this season apparantly, but she can just and stay and I figure that, being a mare, if she decides she wants to, it could go well. Also (and I Know this is irrelevant but hey, mental note!!) her amature jockey is a bit gorgeous and thats unsual for a jockey I find

I have money on Royal Auclair and Monkerhostin (just loved the name

) and hubby has his on Hedgehunter (a local horse) and Eurotrek!

I've done Ballycassidy and Simon, OH has done Celtic Son (not entirely sure why), and Toby has done Eurotrek. Hopefully one of them will finish!

I have put my money on Billyvoddan, because i had a little pony called Billy who meant the world to me.

And Put money on a horse for my son, Jack high as his name is Jack.

Mine is Billyvoddan, OH's is Celtic Son and I asked my Jack Russell which one he wanted and he barked at number 12, so he's got Kelami!

I had an each way bet on royal auclair but I don't know where he finished as I missed the race

I had an each way on eurotrek(pulled up) and libertine(5th) because sam waley-cohen is FIT lol what a way of picking a racehorse - worked though!

Well I got nowt, but my instructor bet on Mckelvey because its sounds a little bit like her surname so she's done alright.

I put £5 on McKelvey(2nd) - can't believe how close he was to win! OH put some money on Slim Pickings! (3rd) It was was our first ever betting, we made a choise this morning after reading The Guardian's pre-view in the park

My little boy chose the Winner!!! Silver Birch and his dad put 50p on each way for him - he was soooo excited when he won, made our day

I put £1 each way on McKelvey, Kelami and one I forget name of now. I got £5 back for McKelvey coming second

We had a sweepstake at work and I got Silver Birch as well as 3 others so was dead chuffed to win the £25 !
