I am off to see my friends jack russell puppies, we had one off her last year, and my mum is having one this year, she wants me to choose one for her as she is not due to come up here for a few weeks yet, omg i will want them all!
Not doing anything horse related today, only the usual turning out, mucking out etc, then looking forwad tot he swim

Was going to go for a hack this morning with a friend but as it is raining quite heavily and has been all night we didn't really fancy going for a swim so have just turned the horses out

Will ride my other chap later as there is a nice indoor school at his yard. Have to work this afternoon

Will no doubt get very wet! Tried to go to the supermarket earlier as I'd run out of food, but annoyingly it wasn't open at 8am on a sunday

(apparently normal, non-horsey people don't get up this early). Might do some painting this morning, or have a nap! Need to tidy the house but don't really want to.

My mares stable was flooded this morning so I put her in the menage whilst I took out most of the bedding. She then jumped over the 5 bar gate out of the menage!

I have been keeping my horse in over the last week and excercising them due to the state of our paddocks but both the horses and I have had enough now, so tomorrow they can both go out and stand upto their knees in mud then maybe they will appreciate the time and effort I put into them to try and keep them sane and happy!!.........I think not. If we don't get some dry warm days soon I'm sure I'm going to shrivel up and turn into a frog.......
 
I'm having a day off horses, I don't have my own but did ride 3 yesterday one way and another.

I am glad I can stay inside on a day like this! Unfortunately though I have loads of marking and housework to catch up on :-(

Plus I am pondering how to improve my riding over the summer when I have about 4 weeks off so trying to find yards to volunteer at etc
 
I was meant to be going Show Jumping but we are having some kind of storm here in Kent, and it was just way too windy to take the box out. Just not worth the risk, I’ll go next time it’s on.
So I’m sitting here watching a film, Perfect Getaway, it’s quite good. Got soaked doing the horses this morning though!
 
Not raining yet in North Yorkshire. Have been up to the yard and mucked out. Took Bobby-Fell for a walk in-hand wearing his spangly new bit and a roller, first time out down the long driveway and we negotiated blustery wind, a flapping carrier bag, a farmyard and cows! On the way back I even switched my leadrope and lead him from his bit and did a bit of halting and he was a very good boy! (makes up for him being a grump yesterday). Have turned him out and had bacon sandwiches and tea, might do some baking this afternoon, yummy!!
 
Its raining hard down with rain here in Kent and has been for quite a while. Everything is under water and had to paddle down the path to the stables

Turned the horses out for a paddle in the field/swamp and am now contemplating doing a bunch of dreary indoor things like bills, tidying up etc How boring. Instead I am on here ha ha

Had planned to go hunting, but it was cancelled on Fri. having watched the weathe forcast have decided the neddies can have a day off, but so far its still dry and not windy.......I may well regret saying this later, the flat roof over my kitchen needs replacing so I really hope the forcast is wrong!
 
I've been well gutted this weekend- the weather hasn't been that bad, yesterday was lovely and today it's just a bit windy... and I haven't been able to ride because I'm getting over a tooth abscess

I was meant to be going to a team chase decided not to risk it with the ground so wet and forecast so bad. I have a bad cold too so did the horses and have gone back to bed!
 
It's bloody snowing. Again.

I WAS planning on taking toby out with my newly-made flag to practise being the Flag Horse for the Common Ride. Or failing that, just continuing with my fittening plan. Not happening now

Instead I'm sitting here playing on the computer, waiting for it to be Pub LUnch Time with friends.
 
Pouring here in Kent. Had planned on going for hack with friend at 11am but decided to postpone and see if weather improves (unlikely!) I'm really worried about slippery ground now as clumsy horse slipped and fell right over a few weeks ago. Hmm might just spend the day on forums instead.

Really sick of Winter now, its really feels like the longest ever. I don't even mind riding in the rain that much, just hate the soggy feeling afterwards driving home, having to dry stuff out... Not fun!
 
Still snowy up here in Aberdeenshire, no riding since mid Dec!! here is the turnout route dug by me (by hand with 1 pink spade!) and here is the situation in the field!! Snow cover since before Xmas hence the podgy Haffie...shes gonna get a hell of a shock when she is put into daily work once it thaws!

Wow, haffieliesel, your path is impressive. I was feeling sorry for myself not getting much riding in until I read your post.

Today, we have hacked, gone to Eland Lodge to watch my friend jump, but missed her. Spent some money in the shop. Got the boys in on way home and am chilling before going to finish boys off.

Fortunately we havent had rain yet, but im sure its on its way.

Edited to say I managed to stay on Mick today after falling off yesterday on my lesson - over a teeny cross pole!

so I took in my baby adalusian into my little indoor school and played with her for a while..bit of lunging, some poles, and then a general play.
now, im going to take them in... thats seven delinquents!!!!
