Whats happenning to me, rubbed bits!!

but I had one of those, and it just made the saddle seat area smaller, so I rubbed more !! If that makes any sense.

This issue is close to my heart, as I used to get what were like bed sores between the cheeks.:o

I second a Heather Moffat - perhaps once the sores have healed/redness reduced you could try borrowing one to see if it helps . My problem was bruising on my seat bones zand sometimes the bruised areas would chaffe. It was worse with thin jods or nickers with seams or if I rode a lot/erratic sitting trot etc.

I cant work out how I can have a big fat butt, but still have bony seat bones!!!

Get a WESTERN saddle they are so comfy. I have not experienced any problems since riding western. And I am not the slimmest of people - especially round the rear! I don't ride in jeans I have a favourite pair of black 'Bridleways' jods which are lovely and stretchy - which reminds me I must go get another pair.
I have two American horses both very different shapes and sizes and each have their own saddle. One saddle was mega expensive, made to measure, the other was from EBay (though a good make from the USA). Actually the EBay one is slightly more comfortable (typical). I have more problems driving (a car) for hours in the heat of summer!

Erm, I suffer this problem :o Have tried seat-savers, padded pants AND have lost two stone... all to no avail, still get sore at the front, but never used to a few years ago. Now I'm wondering whether it's because I'm a little.... er.... over-zealous with the hair removal and perhaps that provides a bit more of a buffer zone... OMG!! I can't believe I'm typing this on here!!! :o :o :o
