ok guys i need your help! as mojo is now on all round comp mix it can put weight on him, which i dont want him too, so iv bought a weight tape! i measured him yesterday as 570 kg and his girth was 197 cm. it says on the tape how to work out his weight but its a very complicated thing to work it out! so is 570kg for mojos breed ( 15hh 10y irish cob, thats him in my sig we are eventing as well this season) ideal weight for him?

I can’t say what his ideal weight should be, but all I know I took Bodey down to the vets and had him weighed on a proper scales and he weighed 540kg. He’s a rising 5, cob, maybe slightly lighter than your boy. Bodey is the one in my siggy. The vet said he was the ideal weight. Not sure if that helps or not?

Why not take him down the vets, get him weighed properly and ask your vet what they think?

I don't go on weight its far too confusing! Condition scoring is best, and the girth size really isn't much of an indication that he is large! You should be able to run your hands over the ribs and feel them, but not see them ( without proddding

Shoulders should be smooth not lumps of fat! and although their should not be a gutter along the spine, my cob has a little gutter on his rump, but he is not fat; I think thats a cob thing lol!
My friend has a 15.2h 11yr old irish cob and he's around 560 kilos, but you can't feet his ribs at all!

My 15.2 Section d was 540kg at the start of last week on a borrowed tape but 460 on my own tape. Weigh tapes just give a general trend (both tapes show he has put on a bit too much in just 1 week on too rich grazing) that you can keep an eye on but I'd defo rely more on the condition score.
