So me and my girl went out to a party today to do her first prelim test, have done a few intros with the baby and thought it was time to move up. So we get to the party and go into the warm up ring where she behaves and moves impeccable, so so soft in my hands, working from behind etc and looking and felling like a bit of a pro. Looking round the other competitors in the warm up I think to myself that today might be my day to come home with a red or at least a blue rosette!!!!!

So off we go with my 'dressage' horse down to the arena full of hope and expectation where on telling the judge my name we promptly spin and bolt out of the arena to come back snorting like a dragon completely rigid and eyes on stalks which is how we proceeded throughout the entire test completely missing out one canter due to me trying to regain control after another spook and looking for fastest way out of areana again!!!!!!

Needless to say no red or blue rosette not even close!!!! What is the old saying 'pride comes before a fall' and my girl firmly gave me a lesson in that today!!!!!

Has anyone else had a horse firmly put you in your place??? :D
