What's the best way to pack a saddle for posting so it won't get damaged?

Hi everyone,

I need to send a saddle and I was just wondering what's the best things to put in the box with it to stop it getting damaged? I've posted one before but I just used the box and stuff from this one which was handy! I've hopefully found a box so that's a start!

Thanks in advance.

Stand it up on end i would wrap in a light sheet if you have it then pack around the saddle with something lightweight to keep in place but not too much weight.

If you have some of that blown up air type bubble plastic if not even scrushed paper would do.

I have sold quite a few saddle on Ebay and i just fold the saddle flaps in under the seat (only as far as they comfortably go!) Tape the saddle up in this position using masking take so it doesn't mark and then wrap with bubble wrap and brown paper with no need for a box. All have always arrive complete and undamaged with happy buyers :)

bubble wrap it and put it in a large cardboard box, pack around it with more bubble wrap :)

Second this.Bubble wrap and plenty of it. You can also put some screwed up newspaper around the saddle after its wrapped to stop it moving. But make sure you put PLENTY of bubble wrap around the saddle.

Mine came in a big box stuffed with paper to keep it from moving. It also had a string contraption arround the box to make it easier to handle and it arrived fine.

I've bought several saddles online and they have all been wrapped in giant bubble wrap (the stuff with the HUGE bubbles), and put into a box with packing underneath - either loads of scrunched up newspapers, or more bubble wrap, one came with polystyrene pellets (my late cat loved that box!!)

If you're sending it, take photos, front, back sides, top and bottom before you wrap (with date/time stamp on pics if poss), then same again when you've wrapped it, and pic of it in the box, then if the recipient tries to make out you sent them a broken/damaged saddle you've some proof that it was fine and you packed it properly!
