Can someone tell me this difference in action between an eggbutt snaffle and a loose ring snaffle please....

The eggbut snaffle has fix rings, therefore, does not move so much in the horse mouth, plus, it would not slip through the sides of the mouth (like if you have doughnut rings on a bit). The loose ring is a bit more free in the mouth, and the rings will spin around, meaning the horse would not be able to "grab" the bit so much in their mouth.
Make sense? (this is what I was told years ago!!)

Agree with Lippyx but just to add a loose ring without donut can pinch the corners of the mouth
