Just wondering if my youngster's lameness is due to a splint forming although he's been lame for a good few months now. What's the longest anyone has experienced lameness for a splint before?
Have you had xrays? It is possible that your youngster has actually broken his splint bone and if he is not coming sound the loose end will need to be removed.
The longest I have known with a splint was lame for 2 months because I mistakenly (under vet's advice) kept the horse in walk work. Turned away, she was sound in 4 weeks with a huge splint formed during that time.
