Was that at the fell sale at Penrith on Friday? I was there, hardly anything sold and what did sell went for rediculously low prices. I feel really sorry for the breeders
Spoke to a friend earlier this evening and she says prices are dropping. A combination of winter coming, a cold snap to start, and the dreaded and diabolical credit crunch
Our company is thinking of ways to try and make the credit crunch work for us so's we don't end up having to sell ours!
hi
I am in the trade for selling horses, we have noticed a very slight decrease in sales from this time last year, however selling more than I expected, mainly youngsters......an investment if produced correctly so with the current market situation its probably the best way to go!
The owner of my yard has the best 12.2 welsh pony club superstar that literally ticks every box. Hacks alone/company. Would jump BSJA (have seen him over 1.10 no probs) has brakes. Does XC and always placed.Good feet, no laminitis, loads , clips , forward going with brakes, same home 6 years ans only 12 now. Cant sell him. Just no one interested. He has spent about £200 advertising him and has now given up and will keep him for a bit. Such a waste of a fantastic pony just standing around doing nothing. The market in our area certaintly seems to have disapperaed
i think its very much a buyers market at the moment. i'm not selling at the mo but if i had the space would seriously consider buying a couple of youngsters to bring on to sell in the summer as you can get a smart youngster for a few hundred pound now.
I am trying to find a pony to buy suitable to teach my daughters to ride on. There are lots advertised but am finding after plenty of viewings that the ponies are not as described or a pony is suitable for lead rein but not as a first pony
Or the ones that sound perfect are to far away.
So even though a there is a credit crunch - us buyers are out.
