What's the market like?

Hi,

Not sold a horse for a long time and was wondering what the markets like at the moment? May have to sell one.

Is there any movement? If so what's on the move, GP, eventers, hunters?? Is there a price bracket that's making sales?

Just tring to get a "feel" for what's going on.

Seems the only thing thats been selling is "average" horses at "average" prices. I know alot of people who have been trying to sell competition horses for a long time with no success. Good luck!

Thanks for that. I know it's difficult to say with these things but was trying to gauge if horses are selling. Think I'd class the mare as a compatent riders RC horse, so average. Will do some more research on the various sites but it helps to hear from people who have sold to get the other side of the story.

I havn't sold my mare that has won 2 BE90's, placed many times BE, hunts, sj unaffillated upto 1.05, Does a dressage in the low 20's, generally in the lead after the dressage. She has been advertised on horsemart and h&h, but the only offer I had was £4750!!!!!!! (asking £7000 ono). She is 8, so has plenty of competitive life yet. Seems people at the moment are offering silly prices, hoping that due to the economic situation people will have to sell, and they will get a bargain.
