what's the most proud you've been of your horse?

The time I've been most proud was when one of my old ponies George jumped a xc fence on the farm. Said pony was scared to jump but he popped the log like a pro.
I have a pic somewhere. It may be one of the smallest fences I've ever jumped but it might as well have been badminton!!

When my horse I bought from the meatman went clear inside the time XC at Weston Park CCI*. My instructor had told me she would never get any better than low level riding club. I didn't take her for anymore lessons, but just did my own thing with her, and 3 years later she proved everyone wrong!

ETA she was the quickest to recover of the CCI* horses after the XC, the vets were really impressed with her! (not bad for a 'horse' that actually measures under 14.2HH

when my mare gave me the most gorgeous foal for my 21st birthday! (ok it was actually 2 days late!)

I was so proud of Lucy when we won our first handy pony class last summer there was 45 in the class and i was first to go, so i thought we had no chance so was suprised when they called us back in the ring at the end then when they pulled me in first i burst into tears. We won a trophy (see pic in my siggy) and £9 prize money. Later i was in the veteran class and the handy pony judge was stood out side the ring as i walked passed she said "look theres my handy pony winner, How old is it?!" That comment also made me proud.

I had a pony when i was 11 called Sonny, he was such a good pony. Took him down to a show on my own (parents couldn't be there) did a handy pony class and waited all day long for the results in the freezing cold (was a winter show).
He was such a little star, we ended up winning and won a huge trophy and a rossette!
I was very pleased

Silly one - when he finally cantered thorugh a puddle out hacking - he was sooo precious about his feet but he finally did it

and when we one our ex racer qualifier ,he went like an absolute dream and even kept a level head when the fancy dress was going on in the next ring

Getting a 1st in a walk and trot test last august

after spending all summer going back to basics with my 'troubled' mare who was afraid of contact and literally couldnt trot!
i was very proud that day and it made all the work i had done seem worthwhile

Another silly one...spending a whole day riding my notoriously spooky arab the length of Salisbury Plain, north to south, while there were live army exercises going on within sight and sound of us. Arab was the calm one...I was the spooky one that day.

That's brill!

I'm really hoping it's going to be in a couple of weeks time when I get back on my boy (he's had 7 months off due to various niggly injuries). The ground work has been going very well and he has behaved really well so far so fingers crossed!

Yesterday when she pulled a STONKER of a dressage test out of the hat for me to get our best ever prelim test and just 2 marks off of first place. We got 73% and the score sheet is LOVELY to read!

My last pony, taken him from a terrified, beaten up pony into the most amazing pony ever. He now lives the best life with his new owner, doing what he loves and living the best life i could have given him... to see him now makes me cry because i never thought my pony who i couldn't get near and who i couldn't jump because he was so scared would ever have turned out so amazing...when he took one of his sharers round her first hunter trial (1.6ft) and then took the boy round a 2.9ft hunter trial i have never felt more proud of something i have done.

OMG My mare gave me a beautiful foal for my 21st too - she was 2 weeks late giving birth so I think she waited

Most proud I've been of my other girlie was I think when she walked straight onto a horsebox with no fuss for the first time - used to be an absolute nightmare; and when we did our first 3'-3'3" to height class, we only had 2 down and she really looked after me - I was terrified!

Most proud of my little man (the special foal) when I took him to Edenbridge and Oxted with his mum for his first ever show and he was a little star - took it all in his stride

Probably when after about a year of regaining my confidence out hacking as he had started to nap with me and I had to ride out with someone else, I finally took him out one sunny summer afternoon for a hack all by himself. He was good as gold, one minor nap but that was it and I felt we'd turned a corner and also felt that it meant he too had regained his confidence in me again. I was on cloud 9!

When we got 2nd place at Chilham Combined Training - its quite tough competition there.

As soon as I got on him he carried himself lovely, warmed up beautifully and we got quite a good dressage score (about mid table) which was lovely as we hadn;t long started doing dressage and it was just coming together. Then going clear in the jumping put us into 2nd place.

Went a bit down hill after that however - but hopefully after a winter break we might get back on track again!
