...horsey piece of knowledge that your OH has come out with?

I was complaining to my OH the other night about a know it all at the yard who was spouting that Burghley is only a 3* bla bla bla and all of a sudden OH pipes up with 'I think she will find the 5 4* events are Badminton, Burghley, Kentucky, Pau and Luhmulen (sp??)'.

I nearly fell off my chair in shock as this is a person who protests that horses are boring, smelly etc.

Although I have a few times found him leafing through H&H only for him to throw it down as soon as I walk in the room as if I have found him perving at page 3.

So I have jumped on this opportunity and have booked him a riding lesson on sunday on my friends gentle giant, fingers crossed he gets the bug as it will help in my campaign to get another pony (to share of course!)

He forgot ADELAIDE 4* held in November in South Australia!!!

The poor event everyone (outside Aus and NZ) forgets it, all on its lonesome in the southern hemisphere, the only one, fighting drought, the heat and stupid councils.....

Hee hee it is actually a really cool event held in the park in the center of town (equivalent of Hyde Park), there is no permanent XC course they build it just for the event so it varies considerably year to year.

Do you know my OH is always saying he's not horsey but he's had 2 weeks off work and has been doing up the stable block - believe me it needs it, untouched for about 30 years since built apart from we stuck 2 new doors on when we moved in so we could keep junk - sorry his equipment - safely in there. He's also started replacing fencing too, all because daughter will need something bigger to ride next year, naturally I've got back on a horse this summer after 25 years because new pony will need a companion

. He is very fond of the little pony she rides and has been caught petting her, despite saying he doesn't like horses.

You've inspired me, think I shall go and book him a lesson too!

yes do it!!! how much easier would it be to get him to buy you another horse if you could use the 'we can share it!' card!

See....this is where it starts...next he'll have his own horse and be telling you where you are going wrong and he will re-organise the feed room
