What's the noise called ??

The noise a horse makes like when dinner is coming or something ?? Not a whinny, sort of a deeper almost grunting kind of noise .............. just wondered if it has an official name??

D'you know what I mean....or do I just sound really stupid???

With mine its more of the 'ooh, what have you got me, oh nothing........well bl**dy well go back in there and don't come out till you HAVE got me something' noise !!!

as soon as he sees me he wants attention/food. couple of weeks ago i must have given the neighbours a laugh, because i tried to get down to check the water trough without letting my gelding see me as i was in a rush... i was bent double creeping down the field and quickly diving behind ponies if gelding looked up

Thats so funny! Mine begs, and I'm forever having people shout 'hey, he's wanting someting'!!! I'm like 'I know, he's ALWAYS wanting something'!!!

Wouldn't change him for the world though - he's such a character and at 26 he's had years to perfect the art of the 'puppy dog face'!!! Funniest thing is I'll bring him something and if its not what he wants he'll turn his head away and carry on begging!

Think I have SUCKER written on my forehead !!!

mines 20, ive had him all his life so we know each other so well and he's a charachter (sp) too, he makes me laugh when he's coming in to eat, or is in and waiting for his supper, because he starts doing chewing motions before i even get to the feed room.

Lol the big lad does it but the cob has yet to start making it ( still there is time lol). When I give them a treat in the field though Dougal usually trots down head up in the air whilst the youngster has been cantering down the last few days ( think he is losing some weight, thankgoodness).
I love the noise though, very sweet
