whats this bit???

never seen one before, looks like a harsher version of a cheltnam gag putting alot of pressure on the poll.

sorry - i couldnt edit last post to add piccies!

i'd love to take credit for knowing that first hand but alas i asked the same question about the same ad and was told :o
here's piccies:

It will have a 'stop' somewhere along the rope I would imagine. Wouldn;t fancy it falling out if I was on a horse that needed that sort of bit!

I think you adjust the leather headpiece that the rope is attached to and the stop on the reins means, unless you on a horse with a really short head, the bit wont drop out as the rope doubles back on itself. I know what i mean but cant for the life of me put it in words!
I have never seen it before and not sure id want to ride a horse that needed it!

i get you ;)
ie - the rein buckle/billet attachement (or the end of the rope ring) will not go through the loop on the bit ring... thurs stopping it dropping... like a cheltenham gag i suppose....
