What's this mean???

I have an 8 month old working cocker spaniel who has recently started, sort of rubbing his face along the carpet? Sounds odd and I cant really explain it, but its as though he's trying to itch his nose on the floor? I am hoping that's just what it is, but I thought that I'd ask just in case! I haven't got a video of it, but I'll try to get one Thanks all

Probably just cleaning his face. Our old collie did that! Nothing to worry about just check nothing is getting stuck in teeth or gums x

My EBT uses the curtains and occasionally your leg if he gets shouted at for the curtains!

I second the face-cleaning theory.

It dosen't matter if I wipe Bear's whiskers or not after he eats - he still 'runs' both sides of his face across the carpet (not the tiled kitchen floor - it's got to be a carpet somewhere!). Our old BT did it as well, so I wouldn't be overly worried. But do have a quick check, just incase there's a morsel of food or other object stuck between his teeth.

Majority of spaniels have a 'pocket' on the lips of their lower jaw and food can get stuck in this. Mostly it doesn't bother them but it can cause a bad smell so check t out and just wipe with a tissue or cotton bud.

Buster uses the sofa to clean his face post dinner Must be a OES thing, the last one used the rug by the fire.

My lurcher girls like to clean their faces on the carpet, beds or what ever takes their fancy so I to go with the cleaning theory!

Our little Bichon does that ocassionaly. Especially after she's been out for a walk and has come in a little damp.

Henry does this when he's wet - all around the room, and on the sofa - well he would if his horrid owner didn't tell him off for mucking up the furniture anyway He just likes to get dried off, the great sissy

Well, we've only had our 6 month Lurcher pup a week now, but yes, he does this too - and, hadn't thought about it until now, but yes it is always after feeding.
