I've had more odd illnesses with these two in the last 7months than in the last 3 years!! Must be my come uppance for being lucky enough to live on a farm maybe:mad: anyway!..

For the past 3 days Lil has been acting oddly.

Day1.
While out walking with Mum she went up the field at top speed, came down, got 3/4 down and fell about screaming. Sounded like from my mother's description, she had cramp and or, locked her patella which she does sometimes (to both, previously vet has given her a relaxant for the cramp but said this wasn't neccessary as should work itself off?) She spent the day sleeping it off. Postured on/off while trying to sleep with her head right back. Clearly cramped in her hind end.

Day2
She was still cramped, passing urine/ faeces (although the latter wasnt as usual) not interested in food. Very warm temperature. Not drinking much

Day 3
Ate a little, did a little poo still VERY tense and uncomfortable. Not drinking much

So this is Day4, again very uncomfortable, not running/playing. So I rang emergency vet this morning, they are not convinced there's any emergency so asked me to wait til later (around now) and update them and they'd decide wether she should go in or not.

Has anyone any thoughts?

Could she have pain more in her back which is showing in the leg? If she is clearly uncomfortable I would insist the vet sees her, presumably this is one of these out of hours vets rather than your own, who would probably know you and take your word for it she is not happy. Sounds like she would be comfier with some pain relief even if it is only cramp so don't be fobbed off.

Possibly yes, she is reluctant to have us touch from the back of her ribcage, back to her hip bones. She is walking and having a little run with us ok but not her usual self (usually you don't SEE her for the most part as she's up hunting in the woods)
I think I tend to agree with pushing them to see her, even though she's eating and toiletting fine she clearly isn't fine, and 4 days of not fine, is long enough I think!

Update.
Vet thinks that Lil has some issue with her lumbar spine, so is going in for xrays tomorrow. Currently spaced out on morphine-esque drugs. :(

Well so-so, she's currently really upset/disorientated by the drugs - so crying constantly. If I could have the pain-free w/o the upset, I'd be happy!!
Roll on tomorrow so we find out whats wrong. :)
