whats weight limit for cob x tb?

A friend of mine has a 15hh tb x cob (not overly cobby) he is also 4 and the max weight she would allow on him atm is 12st. so i would guess around that at the moment. I could be wrong though!

Dont they say a horse should be comfortable carrying around 20% of their body weight? (including the weight of the saddle) Just what I was told

that is what ive heard also,i am 12st at moment and i wanna lose a bit more, this is the issue i have got as she is only 4,if she was 7 or 8 years old i could understand the weight issue.

me neither tbh! mine is rising 4 this year but has had majority of the winter off and i only really hack out on him once a week or lunge himl hes around 15hh and is a cob x but hes very fine and im 11 and a half stone but he carries me fine

exactly the same issue ive got,she pretty much has winter off and i only ride her every now and again just so shes ridden and the odd bit of lungeing every now and again,my girly standing 15.1hh at mo,and is bumhigh slightly.naughty i know but a 13st person has got on her and once again no signs of struggling or her back sinking or tensing she just carried on like normal?so im confused,i know every horse is different.

yeah i mean cobs are supposed to be weight carriers any way! so its hard to say what the limit is and as you say every horse is different, i suppose it also can depend on the rider too, if you have a correct position then you will ride lighter. if you dont carry your self properly then your putting more weight on to the horses back.
