What's this latest thing about sharing pics of vile animal cruelty? I know it's to highlight what goes on and the fact we need to put a stop to it and pass tougher sentences on the vile thugs who get away with it at the moment, but I really hate the pics popping up in my news feed. TBH I find it sickening and upsetting and I'm no fluffy bunny either. Anyone else feel like this??

I know, I posted about this a couple of months ago.

I have unfriended a couple of charities because of it. I feel mean but I cant stand to look at things like that every time I log on.

I just can't stand fb as a whole so I deleted my account. I discovered that there were reasons I'd lost touch with 95 percent of my "friends" ;) and as for some of the horse groups.....!!

I'm on Facebook, but luckily for me I'm not getting any of these animal cruelty posts on my wall. :)

Let's hope I haven't spoken too soon........ :(

Makes people who will never see cruelty at first hand (thank god) realize what goes on in the world or their doorstep!
Dont get me wrong its not nice veiwing and i dont like to see it, but it gives us all a kick up the bum, and makes us less complacent about what does go on in our supposedly animal loving country!!

It makes me sick. I know it goes on, I try and donate when I can scrape together some money and anything else I feel I can do. I do NOT need to see! I don't want to see a poor dog with it's face blown off,I don't want to see a dead horse, I don't want to see someone hanging a puppy and I don't want to see a room full of tiger skins, complete with blood splattered walls.
The only group I follow and tolerate pictures from is an Egyptian horse group. Those horses have hideous wounds, but you can really see the progression and 3 in particular are doing really well now.

I know what you mean I used to ge in every animal rights / rescue group going but it tore me apart sometimes so I had to leave for my own sanity. I am a member of several charities who I support financially but I email them and ask them not to post me their leaflets etc.

its every day isn't it...and goodness several times from some friends..I think i've blocked FB Causes more than a few times & totally appreciate the reasons the groups are formed, but tbh..its too upsetting poor animals....people woould have such a fit tho if we started posting save the children pics with similar graphic horrors...that wouldn't do...and this is no better simply because its just animals..breaks my heart every time.same with the ones thy post...RSPCA sending a 6yr old girl(me) a graphic picture of puppies...well done whoever made money from my details back then...I don't ever open them now..& that makes me feel bad too:(

I've unfriended a lot of charities for this reason too. The first one I unfriended was the RSPCA because the way they write their 'news' posts with sensationalist headlines really irritates me, as do the numpties that comment without reading the full story.

I don't feel guilty about it. It's fb - not real life!

Oh and the petition/cause thing irritates me too. I had one the other day saying "Sign this petition against horse slaughter!". Now why would I do that??I don't want to open up a whole debate on slaughter again, but I think most horsey people would agree that some slaughters are necessary.

I used to get a lot of the 'join my cause' type posts... Drove me batty and have blocked that application a few times...

There's also some truly awful kiddie photos that have been doing the rounds with people really believing that a photo share will see FB donate money for treatment...

Facecrooks is a good group to keep an eye on as they give regular updates on malicious applications/photo scams etc and they have a report feature...

I haven't joined any rescue groups either - but obviously, I have some 'friends' who have and their posts put these pics on my wall.
I hate the pics and don't want them flashing back in my brain.

I also dont see what they are gaining by doing it. People who might have supported them are upset and unsubscribe.

A lovely lady who works for me, doesn't own animals, supports lots of animal charities financially. She donates to the ones who send her nice pics, showing happy stories of animals they have saved.

Apparently the mare and foal santuary are the best at that and get the most money from her :D

I am glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. I have blocked the causes now,I think it's disgraceful the graphic nature of the pics and the fact they come up in my feed where young children can see them. If I wanted to look at these sort of pics,I could find them myself thankyou. I don't want to delete FB as I have family the other end of the country and it's a great way of keeping in touch, but this is getting beyond it now.
