Whats wrong with this horse ??????????????

What a lovely horse, the only thing I would change is his weight, hes is on the large side.

Is that a recent photo?

There are plenty of classes out there, what about putting him into a driving class?

photos about two years old am trying to slim him down has been on a strict diet and limited grazing since the begining of last year and plenty of excersize every day but alas he still looks fat he does have that heave line though that storminateacup mentioned

The problem is that classes for gypsy cobs unless they are coloured and can go with CHAPS/BSPA are few and far between.

There is nothing at high level for them - end of.

At low level you can do driving type, condition, riding club, and if you can put a running plait in, maybe local working hunter cob. Some people put them in m&m classes - some judges think they are Fell/Dale types if they are not coloured, but again only local.

I have a gypsy cob, I show at high level, but in the traditional coloured classes. This year Trailblazers are allowing hairies in the working hunter cob classes, so I finally have one other class I can do with my lad but only with them.

Shame as he looks a nice type, but I would like to see a little weight off him, though he is meant to have an apple bum and a working neck, but not too much in the middle - plenty of width but muscle not fat.

The other problem is that a good traditional is the wrong shape to be a show cob, so hogging out is not always the answer.

Shame you can put a 6" piece of white on his body then he could be a minimal marked coloured - there are some like your lad out their with a tiny white patch on their neck which is all it takes to be a coloured.

Very true Theresa_F I discovered that to my horses detriment one year!

why not try a driving type class he doesnt have to driven to do it. you could say
he's in the process of being broken to harness.
for this class they don't have to be shown in harness in fact most shows have in bold type no carts or harness required.
