Hi Guys . just a quick question..

What is your definition of a ' light hack ' as in a horse only fit for that purpose?
Thanks Al & Paddy.

I'd assume it means its ok for an hour or so's potter & maybe the odd canter but not any long or fast work. I'm suspicious though, in an ad I would assume it meant crippled &/or ancient until it was proved otherwise.

I'd say a horse that could hack out for an hour, mostly walk on good ground with perhaps some trot/canter depending on the condition. x

As the others have said above - and also needing to be careful of ground conditions too.
No schooling.
Think of taking a new rider just off the lead rein & thats a light hack that they should be on (IMHO)

PI ok mrs? Had the trip to vets?

Hi mate , PI off to bristol on the 11th June...
..the reason i asked was just that the livery and i were just saying about the definition of a light hack - could you go out for an hour say walking with a bit of trot etc , could you go every day , or would that be too much , can you have the odd canter etc , so many different views - i guess ultimately it'll depend on what the vet knows ( if he actually does know - not meant in a sarky way )...
just the ramblings of my mind , thanks everyone who answered;)
